Dear Parents, Carers and Families

We hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year. We would like to welcome all the new families that have started with us this spring term.


Thank you to those who attended our Christmas play and sing along, we are sure that you all agree that the children put on a wonderful performance. We would also like to thank everyone who attended the Christmas fair, we raised £219, this will be contributed towards new nursery equipment.

02/03/2020 – World book day, all children that attend nursery on this day are welcome to wear a costume of their choice.

09/03/2020 – Sport relief day, all children who attend nursery on this day are welcome to come to nursery in sports wear for a donation. Money will go to sports relief.

10/03/2020 – Spring walk 10 volunteers needed, please email Neisha if you are available to attend.

20/03/2020 – All Mums/Grandmothers/Special person welcome for afternoon tea to celebrate Mothering Sunday (one adult per child). 2pm – 3pm.

Parent Rota:

A Polite notice that we have a Parent Rota, located on the parent board in the entrance of the nursery. If you would like to sign up to volunteer your time please don’t hesitate to do so. If you need any further assistance please ask Neisha or Laura who will be happy to help. Thank you.

Letter and Sounds

The letters being focused on this term are:

K – Down the Kangaroo’s body, tail and leg.

U – Down and under, up to the top and draw the puddle.

B  – Down the laces to the heel, round the toe.

F  – Down the stem and draw the leaves.

E – lift off the top and scoop out the egg.

L – Down the long leg.

H – Down the head to the hooves and over his back

SH – Slither down the snake, down the head to the hooves and over his back

R – Down his back, then curl over his arm

J – Down his body, curl and dot

V – Down a wing, up a wing

Y – down a horn up a horn and under his head.


Uniform is compulsory for ALL children. (Jigsaw uniform is still acceptable) ALL children must attend nursery in uniform. If uniform is needed please speak to either Neisha or Laura about how to purchase this if necessary, Thank you.



Due to the colder weather we would like to request that all children come into nursery with appropriate clothing, this includes, Coat, Hat, Gloves and Scarf. Please make sure that all clothing is Clearly Labelled. Little speckled frogs are not responsible for any loss of items.

Reading Records.

Reading records will continue to be sent home with your child over this term, if you have not yet returned any books please do so, so that the children can change them and explore different authors and illustrations.

Further information.

If you are not yet signed up to EYLOG please do not hesitate to speak to either Neisha or Laura who then will be able to send over the information needed.

Please can all toys from home not be brought into nursery with your children, comforters are acceptable.

We have recently been participating in Sports for kids, sports for kids is an organisation that comes into nursery to teach the children different sports. Coach Adam follows the EYFS curriculum, teaching children exercises that are related to their age and stage of development, including story-telling, shapes and rhymes.

Water bottles, Please ensure that all water bottles are clearly labelled. ONLY WATER is to be sent in with your child please. Any water bottles that are left at the end of the term will be disposed of.
